Schools will be getting out for the summer here in New England in a few weeks. Depending on where in the US you live, schools may be out already!
The lazy, crazy, hazy days of summer mean that the summer months provide an opportunity for kids to be kids – enjoying camps and free-time activities.
Summer’s a terrific time of year to celebrate a birthday if you’re a kid – the opportunities are endless for birthday party themes. (I’m a January baby, myself!) My grandson and charming son-in-law both celebrate birthdays in August.
Our family enjoys camping at both the beach and lakes. Birthday parties at the beach are really fun. On the beach there is a lot of space and the child participants will have a ball. If your family and friends are the merry making type then adults can join in too.
A picnic and camp fire will add to the mood especially in the late evenings.
Be sure to check out the weather forecast first! If the forecast is bad but you still want to go ahead just make sure there is an alternative place to hold your party in case the clouds become unfriendly.
